    TaxJar's remote-only team of almost 90 people is growing quickly. We’re currently looking for a Support Analyst who wants to make a difference on a growing Customer Services team.

    • The Frontline Support Analyst is part of a team that is the first line of contact for customers experiencing issues with implementing TaxJar's products and services. This team is also a first line of contact with non-customers who have questions about sales tax compliance in relation to the solutions that TaxJar offers.
    • This team must be passionate about resolving problems and answering questions with a sense of urgency.
    • Queries will range in complexity from basic sales tax consulting, ‘how to’ questions, account onboarding and basic troubleshooting
    • This analyst will be responsible for basic diagnosis and analysis of customer issues and be expected to provide first level analysis and documentation to the Tier 2 support team.

    *This is a full-time remote position, available to folks located in the continental US only.

    As a Support Analyst you will

    • Provide exceptional customer service while responding to phone, e-mail and online requests for help with TaxJar’s products and services
    • Answer sales tax consulting questions
    • Clearly identify, document, and find solutions for customer issues and product problems
    • Provide Tier 1, first point of contact and basic troubleshooting for customer issues
    • Escalate critical customer situations to the appropriate level of management and Tier 2 support
    • Track all customer requests and product feedback
    • Report on ticket trends or FAQ’s in the inbox

    REQUIREMENTS

    You are

    • Someone with prior experience or interest in eCommerce or SaaS support
    • Highly-skilled in written and verbal communications, with both our team and our customers
    • Curious--you enjoy digging past the surface of a question
    • Comfortable working with technology and providing technical support
    • Able to approach success from the customer’s point of view
    • Extremely patient… sales tax can be painful and our goal is to ease that pain :-)
    • Able to explain complex concepts in easy to understand language
    • Interested in understanding the ins-and-outs of sales tax (It’s a big topic!)
    • Attentive to details

    You’ll be a great fit on our team if you

    • Are a PRO at communicating
    • Excel at writing (we’re very serious about this.) You have tip top writing skills and know your way around the do’s and don'ts of grammar
    • Are well-experienced at working remotely as part of distributed team

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years’ experience in a customer service or helpdesk role supporting software technology
    • Adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated and works well on their own or as a member of a team
    • Excellent Customer Service skills and a demonstrated success exceeding customer expectations
    • Familiarity with analysis and debugging skill a plus
    • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer handling skills

    Bear Group is a leading web development firm based in Seattle looking for an experienced backend web developer to join our team of Drupal and Magento. You will have the opportunity to work with leading companies and marketing teams to develop complex sites and integrations between systems.

    We are a fully distributed team that primarily builds in PHP on the Magento and Drupal platforms for ecommerce and content management sites. Since we are fully remote, you can work from anywhere! We do require at least 4 hours of working time overlap with the Pacific time zone work day where most of our clients are located. As a highly client focused organization, you will occasionally need to meet according to their schedule. This typically falls between 10 and 5 Pacific time, and we strive to give you plenty of time to focus on development.

    Working with a variety of clients, we fluidly form groups including a Technical Project Manager, a Quality Analyst, and one or more developers to complete sprints of work. The type of work depends on the client, but often includes:

    • Developing custom modules and extensions for Drupal CMS and Magento Commerce.
    • Integration with various APIs and third-party systems.
    • Migrating existing sites to modern platforms.
    • Knowledgeable with front-end development: HTML/CSS/Javascript coding, with Twig and PHP at the template level

    With Bear Group, you will tackle technical problems, code and debug primarily PHP/javascript/css, and occasionally participate in client meetings. You will need to be self-motivating and able to work independently most of the time, but we have a friendly and capable team to collaborate with when you encounter obstacles. Since the technology world is constantly evolving, you’ll be expected to keep up with the current technologies and practices. To help with this, we provide an annual education stipend that can be used for attending relevant conferences or continued education courses.

    During your first week you will work closely with one of our senior developers to set up your new system and familiarize with our processes and tools. The system will be either Mac, Linux, or Windows to your preference, and we use Vagrant to manage virtual machines for a consistent development server stack. Other tools you will use include:

    • Git for source control
    • Bitbucket for Git repositories
    • Jira for project management
    • Confluence for documentation
    • Slack for communication.

    As you get your feet under you we will introduce some project work, again in collaboration with a senior developer on a sprint they are currently working on. Ultimately our developers work independently on your own tickets and sprints.

    The Product Marketing Manager's goal is to demonstrate how TaxJar's products can solve the everyone's sales tax problems.

    As a Product Marketing Manager at TaxJar you will

    • Define, prioritize and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy for TaxJar’s sales tax compliance products: TaxJar ReportsAutoFileSmartCalcs APITaxJar Plus, etc.)
    • Develop product positioning, value proposition and messaging that differentiates our product to our key target audiences.
    • Plan the go-to-market launch strategy for new products, new integrations and feature releases, and manage all cross-functional product marketing efforts.

    • Develop written & video product assets and provide subject matter expertise for all marketing campaigns and efforts.
    • Communicate the value proposition of the products to our sales team and work with the design team to develop the sales materials/tools that support the selling process of our products.
    • Administer and report to the company on Net Promoter (NPS) metrics & goals.
    • Find ways to creatively surface and automate the promotion of product-related revenue drivers (annual subscription plans, AutoFile enrollment, etc) using data to reach the right customers with a customized message.
    • Must be willing to travel and attend in-person trade-shows with customers occasionally.

    This is a key product marketing role and requires a self-starter with strong experience in organization, communication and execution of marketing needs. You don't wait for others to tell you what to do—you figure things out on your own. You ask questions. You get clarity. You do what's best for the customer. You listen well.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience in building creative assets and marketing content
    • Experience in planning and actioning multiple, complex marketing programs including budget management
    • Experience in the SaaS, eCommerce space
    • Demonstrated ability as a product or technology advocate, with the ability to collaborate with engineering and marketing teams
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
    • Passion for marketing simple and intuitive products that solve complex problems in eCommerce

    Who you are

    As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you are a self-motivated, life long learner with a passion for design and engineering. You love great UX. You like to keep up with the latest trends in the frontend and design world to ensure we are always using the best techniques possible. You are familiar with Agile Scrum. Beyond coding, you enjoy working in an evolving industry.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develop new user-facing features
    • Design and write efficient, well tested and highly readable code for future use
    • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
    • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
    • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
    • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
    • Mentor junior members of the frontend team

    Education and Experience

    • 4+ years of software engineering experience
    • Bachelor's in Computer science, Engineering, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
    • Expert knowledge of Javascript and frontend frameworks (React and/or Vue)
    • Experience developing rich, reliable, cross-browser-compatible web experiences
    • Expert knowledge of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
    • Experience designing elegant, expressive client-side Javascript APIs
    • Experience creating robust UI automation testing as part of the development process 
    • An ability to translate designs into pixel-perfect HTML and CSS
    • Extensive knowledge of best engineering practices in agile software development: architectural paradigms, code reviews, branching, task management, documentation, testing
    • A passion for frontend engineering
