    This position is for a Developer Advocate reporting directly to source{d} VP of Marketing who is based in San Francisco and is also responsible for Developer Relations. Be prepared to wear many hats!

    • You will be expected to have previous experience in Developer Relations: technical writing (blog posts, tutorials, hands-on labs, etc), documentation, technical presentations on stage, and participation in forums (such as StackOverflow)
    • A significant amount of time you will be trying out source{d} products and writing about them in both blog posts and technical documentation. You’ll need to find defects or possible improvements and report them to the product and engineering team.
    • In addition to communication skills, you are also a developer at heart, with experience in basic data retrieval (SQL) and visualization (Python + graph tooling).
    • You’ll be responsible for managing communication within the developer community as well as with prospects and customers.
    • You will also be planning and participating in technical events, leading technical enterprise workshops and giving talks at developer conferences.

    Role

    The Solutions Team leads the implementation of source{d} at customers, building solutions based on source{d}, developing custom features and integrating with other platforms.

    The underlying stack is developed primarily in Go, with some Scala and Python. Custom features and integration code often relies on Python. Most use cases require extensive use of SQL.

    Responsibilities

    • As a Solutions Engineer, you will design and build solutions based on source{d}, the data platform for your software development lifecycle.
    • You will be heavily involved in project management for customer projects.
    • You will be involved in the definition, planning, and delivery of solutions for our prospects and customers.
    • You will develop demos and solutions that can be reused across different customers.
    • You will work closely with the rest of the engineering team, who will enable you to deliver demos and projects, both by means of internal support as well as the development of new features.

    Requirements

    • You will code primarily in Python, SQL and Go. Previous experience with Python and SQL is preferred. Previous experience with Go is not a strict requirement; we strongly believe that it can be learned easily by any skilled developer. Experience with other languages is a plus.
    • Previous experience in consulting projects or professional services.
    • (Optional) Experience in analytics projects in industries such as banking, professional services, consultancy, etc.

    Role

    This position is for a Lead Engineer in the Infrastructure team. The team has currently 3 members.

    The Infrastructure team manages multiple clusters:

    • Pipeline clusters, built on bare metal servers at a hosting provider. It has more than 1000 threads, more than 6TB of RAM and 500TB of storage, and it is backed by CoreOS and Kubernetes. It has two main goals: on the one hand, it stores all the available public code in a distributed filesystem and on the other hand, it runs intensive computation jobs over the stored data on top of Apache Spark.

    • Machine Learning research cluster, built on bare metal servers at our Madrid office. It is backed by CoreOS and Kubernetes too and it has GPUs available on every server to run deep learning algorithms.

    • Multiple Google Kubernetes Engine clusters for public-facing services. All clusters are managed with Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm.

    The team also maintains several services such as databases, queues, continuous integration, monitoring, logging, etc.

    At source{d}, we care about Open Source, which is why we as the infrastructure team we contribute to projects such as Terraform & CoreOS and create our own. We maintain the official Terraform provider for Helm (terraform-provider-helm).

    We are looking for someone with a background in Linux, networking and containers, passion for automation and experience working at scale. Finally, knowledge of at least one backend/scripting language who cares about best development practices.

    Role:

    The Data Retrieval team is developing source{d}'s high-level code analysis applications for running scalable data retrieval pipelines that process and manipulate any number of code repositories for source code analysis. Written mostly in Go, it aims to be robust, friendly and flexible and capable of running on large-scale distributed clusters over petabytes of data.

    We at source{d} seek to be at the heart of any project related to source code. Thus, this core tool will be used both in-house for building source{d}'s unique global scale open dataset of +60M code repositories for cutting-edge Machine Learning research, as well as used externally by empowering a wide community of developers, researchers and companies worldwide when doing vanguard research or building the next generation of developer tools and experiences.

    • Good knowledge of distributed computing and parallel processing is important.
    • You will be expected to have strong backend coding skills in at least two languages and very good algorithmic skills.
    • Scala coding skills and knowledge about Apache Spark aren't required but will be highly appreciated, on the other hand Go is not a strict requirement; we strongly believe that it can be learned easily by any skilled developer and care a lot more about our team's mindset and prior experience than any specific skills.
